Photo from Photography On The Fly
Derek DeYoung and I checked out the river below DePuy's yesterday. It wasn't really happening, I think I saw two caddis flying around. Seeing how the Yellowstone was just a shade too muddy (even for streamer fishing), we decided to take a drive to one of the local lakes. Unfortunately when we got there, we were faced with 40 mph winds, muddy water, and a hovering ice chunk in the middle of the lake. We had a couple adult beverages in the truck before mustering up the courage to battle the elements. We knew we were skunked before we even stepped out of the ride but of course we had to try. As we leaned sideways into the wind holding our hats, it was official - this was going to be tough fishing...
